QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or GED and specialized vocational experience in or after high school in the field of record keeping and data entry. Two years experience, in word processing, data entry on computers and complex data Base. Employee must be able to walk for 4 hours. Job requires occasional bending/stooping/squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and pushing/pulling. Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds. Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation. Employee must possess hearing and speaking abilities to monitor equipment and communicate with employees, students, and parents. The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.
CONTRACT: 10 months (218 days)
WORKING HOURS: 8 hours daily, usually between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains attendance information.
- Answers the telephone and greets visitors.
- Handles correspondence for Assistant Principals office.
- Dispenses and administers medication to students.
- Files guardian papers and medical information papers.
- Issues bus passes.
- Calls parents to verify unreported absences.
- Sends attendance letters.
- Tracks students for truancy referrals.
- Attends Truancy Meetings.
- Quarterly reports on suspensions and PASS placements.
- Quarterly state reports.
- Counts medications each week.
- Logs medications given each day.
- Administers first aid to students.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
