QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.  Training or experience not required.   Individual must stand and walk up to seven hours.  Job requires frequent bending/stooping, reaching above the shoulder and pushing and pulling.  Job requires occasional squatting/crouching, crawling/kneeling and climbing. Job requires continuous carrying/lifting up to ten pounds and frequently up to fifty pounds to put away grocery orders and move food items around the kitchen.   Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation.  Employee must possess visual ability to read recipes, follow directions, cook, clean, serves and fill line.  Job requires uses of proximity to machinery such as steamers, ovens, mixers, fryers, and slicers. Job requires working in extreme temperatures.  Must adhere to the district dress standards. The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.

 

 

CONTRACT:  Days Schools in Session

 

REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager

EVALUATED BY: Cafeteria Manager

SUPERVISES:  Does not supervise

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Prepares main dishes for lunch. Prepares salad bar and sack lunches.
  2. Follows defined standards of sanitation and safety as outlined by state and local regulations.  Follows HACCP procedures and completes assigned HACCP documentation.
  3. Fills serving line as necessary.
  4. Unloads and stores grocery orders. Stores and disposes of unused food.
  5. Orders fruits and vegetables.
  6. Maintains daily usage records.
  7. Checks and maintains temperatures of refrigerated equipment.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
