QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in education or higher.
  • At least three years of successful full-time experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Professional development experience educating teachers or other adults in the integration of technology for instruction and productivity using all of the following modes: modeling, one-on-one, small group, or large group preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in delivering and integrating technology in instructional programs.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general computing and curricular periodicals/journals, websites, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and instruction manuals.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

 

CONTRACT:  Days Teachers are in Session (181 days) plus 25 additional days that occur primarily between Memorial Day and the first day teachers report for the academic year.

 

WORKING HOURS:  8:30 –4:00 daily (FLSA exempt)

 

REPORTS TO:   Executive Director of Technology and Communications

 

EVALUATED BY:  Executive Directors of Technology and Communications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helps facilitate the success of the district's Student Computing Initiative by providing ongoing professional development. Continuously helps in the research and discovery of new and inventive ways to deliver digital instruction and professional development to the classroom. Assists with annual device check-out, check-in, and preparation procedures as assigned.
  • Collaborates with teachers in composing effective technology-infused, content-based lessons, and supports the teachers as they implement the lessons in their classrooms.
  • Promotes model instructional practices and the appropriate role of technology in them.
  • Articulates appropriate instructional technology practices as described in technology standards for students and teachers.
  • Provides assistance and training to building instructional staff in the integration of technology to support student achievement.  This includes planning and implementing job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, small groups, and large groups.
  • Collaborates in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of instructional technology materials and software.
  • Assists with technology training as part of collaborative school district staff development initiatives and supports regional and statewide initiatives.
  • Works with curricular staff to develop and implement technology-enhanced curriculum integration projects.
  • Provides leadership in developing and implementing technology.
  • Collaborates with School Administrators, Library Media Specialists, and staff to ensure infrastructure and tools are available to carry out school and technology initiatives.
  • Conducts research about advancements in technology tools and resources to influence decision-making.
  • Gathers and disseminates information (e.g., grants, policies, professional development opportunities) relevant to instructional technology.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field.
  • Participates in workshops, conferences and trainings.
  • Conducts staff development and supports community awareness initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside, but will travel from site to site on a regular basis.  The noise level of the work environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day and location.
