Substitute in all classrooms and schools as needed.

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or GED

* Complete Required Paperwork and Pay Required Fees

* Attend Substitute Training (substitute coordinator will notify you of date)

If you do not hold a teaching certificate, the pay is $60/day for a full day and $30/day for a half day.

If you do hold a teaching certificate, the pay is $80/day for a full day and $40/day for a half day.

Effective July 1, 2010 Oklahoma School Districts are required by law to run a National Criminal History Record Check (SB 2199), done by the Oklahoma Department of Education through the OSBI, on any potential employee. The cost of the background check is to be paid by the substitute. More information will be provided upon hire.

***It is the responsibility of the applicant to pay for these fees before being employed***

You will pay the school district $45 for the background check and will pay the Washington County Sheriff's Department $10 for the fingerprints.

If you worked for BPS immediately preceding this school year, you are not required to have a background check.

If you have received the fingerprint background check as a substitute for an Oklahoma school district within the last year, you can bring us a copy.

Substitute teachers will be drug tested and are considered "safety sensitive" positions within Bartlesville Public Schools.
