JOB TITLE:  Director of Athletics and Activities


QUALIFICATIONS:   A Master’s Degree and Valid Oklahoma School Administrator Certificate is required. Secondary school administration experience is preferred.  Possess the experience & ability to function in a variety of word-processing, spreadsheet and database software programs. A valid driver’s license is necessary. Employee must be able to walk or stand for 4 hours.  Job requires occasional bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, kneeling, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and pushing/pulling. Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to 35 pounds. Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation.  Employee must possess hearing and speaking abilities to monitor equipment and communicate with employees, students, and parents. The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.


CONTRACT: 12 Months (260 days)


REPORTS TO:  High School Principal, Executive Director of High School, Superintendent 


EVALUATED BY:   High School Principal, Executive Director of High School


SUPERVISES:  Coaches, Athletic and Activities Staff


SALARY: 12 Month Administrator 



  1. Organizes and administers the overall program of athletics and activities for the district.
  2. Serves as ambassador with booster clubs and community.
  3. Administers the athletic and music program budgets with transparency to all stakeholders.
  4. Selects, assigns and evaluates athletic and activities staff.
  5. Oversees scheduling of all athletic and music activities.
  6. Oversees the hiring of officials, security, trainers, game workers and ambulance services as required for home athletic events.
  7. Attends as many home and away events as possible.
  8. Oversees program to increase department revenue through marketing, soliciting financial support, selling advertising, and promoting fundraising efforts.
  9. Arranges for transportation for athletic and music contest participants.
  10. Supervises individual athletic and music activity accounts.
  11. Partners with the Bartlesville Sports Commission. 
  12. Oversees the availability and schedules the non-school use of athletic fields and facilities.
  13. Administers the insurance program covering school athletes and assumes responsibility for all processing of reports and claims.
  14. Arranges the Physical examination of all athletes. 
  15. Maintains an inventory of equipment for each program.
  16. Ensures compliance with OSSAA and academic eligibility.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned by the High School Principal, Executive Director of High School, or Superintendent.
